- The art exhibit that marks… wait for it… the end of postmodernism (let’s see if this draws out the Emergent crowd…)
- James K.A. Smith on the problems with contemporary academic theology
- The big-ticket, elite colleges are a scam, it turns out.
- I just knew my liberal arts degree would come in handy!
- Heather Hoover on the day when the princess train stops at your house
That princess blog post is great. I’m reading _Cinderella Ate My Daughter_ for my diss, and it’s such a thoughtful, loving examination of a scary, but often overlooked, cultural problem. I would recommend that and _Packaging Girlhood_ to anyone with young daughters, nieces, etc..
I’m glad you enjoyed that as I did. Heather Hoover and I were English majors at the same time at Milligan College, I should say in the spirit of disclosure (and name-dropping).
Love your podcast. Here’s a nice new article on your recurring Robert Johnson theme by Ted Gioia. Cheers.

Nice! I’ll admit that the Robert Johnson thing fascinates me more and more as I spend more and more time working with Spirit-church people at a Pentecostal college. I’m more and more willing to grant that there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamed of in my philosophy, Horatio, and those things deserve the same sorts of disciplined thought that other important questions do.
John, if in fact you’re in Hong Kong (and that’s not just a clever screen name), you join Chris Huntington as one of our beloved Asian listeners. Welcome!
