All colleges, or at least the ones I know, have dedicated alumni who will tell you that their alma mater is one of the truly great colleges. But that can’t be the end of the conversation; any given school and schools thinking together need to establish some apparatus for deciding what counts as better and what stands as worse so that colleges can aim at real targets when we reform. Harvey Weingarten’s book Nothing Less than Great: Reforming Canada’s Universities unveils some global questions in his pursuit of national reforms, and Christian Humanist Profiles is happy to search the latter for the sake of the former.
