In our current political moment, much of the broader secular world uses the word “Evangelical” as a shortcut to encompass a number of other identifiers–white, probably  at least middle-class, Republican, and someone with a belief in traditional gender roles and what it is to be masculine and what is to be feminine in the world. My discussion today is  with someone working to inject some nuance into the discussion regarding what it means to be an Evangelical in her new film, Baptizing Feminism.
