  1. Well, maybe if *I* finally say the dreaded words, we can put the whole “sounds like Tom Petty” episode behind us. This is the first I’ve listened to the 77s, and while Roe and co. definitely piece together a sound unique unto themselves, when I first gave “The Lust, The Flesh et al” a spin, that Rickenbacker sound and Mike’s meditative keening most definitely put me in mind of one Tom Petty, in his more meditative moments.

    As usual, you gentlemen provided a very engaging and enjoyable introduction — thank you.
