Katie L. Norman Grubbs decided in her youth that it would be a fine pursuit to spend life reading books and teaching others to love them. To that end, she completed a B.A. at Berry College and an M.A. at the University of Georgia, both in English, and in May 2016 completed a doctorate in English literature, also at UGA. Her dissertation focused on the child elegy in early modern England and America, a topic that sounds depressing but actually proved to be quite beautiful. After teaching writing and literature in both Athens, Georgia, and McPherson, Kansas, she now works as an adjunct Professor of English at Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas.
Katie is married to David Grubbs of the Christian Humanist Podcast, and they stick to a zone defense to manage their three active children: Arden, Beren, and Caedmon. When not teaching or child-wrangling, Katie enjoys mystery novels, heist movies, and sampling Houston’s amazing array of international foods.
