Marie Hause is a PhD candidate at Florida State University. She studies early modern
literature and the history of text technologies, and is working on a dissertation on images
of the cosmos in early modern English poetry. Marie received her MA in literature
in 2010 from James Madison University, where her thesis explored gothic novels from
feminist and queer theory perspectives.
Marie grew up in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where her parents are missionaries. Perhaps that
interdenominational environment encouraged some of her ecumenical viewpoints. She
is interested particularly in feminist and queer approaches to theology and Christian
practice.
