Though evangelicals in the 60’s and 70’s were no fans of the sexual revolution, it did mean that they had to start talking about sex. Since then, the evangelical world has produced many books on marriage and sex that all claim to create great relationships for Christian couples. These books are frequently recommended by pastors and counselors, and touted as panaceas for all marital ills, but have their promises actually been fulfilled in the lives of readers? Award-winning author, blogger, podcaster, and speaker Sheila Wray Gregoire set out to answer that question, and the results of her research became her new book, The Great Sex Rescue. Katie Grubbs interviews Sheila to discuss her discovery that many of these books have proven harmful, not helpful, for Christian couples. Listeners, you’re going to want to listen to this interview without the kids, as this will be a frank discussion of a mature topic.
