“The best thing that one can do with a Bible is to read it.”  That’s one of the proverbial words I remember from my beloved seminary professor Robert Owens, and it’s not a bad way to articulate why I keep reading in the field of Biblical studies.  I have a hunch that Bruce Chilton would agree, as his 2019 book Resurrection Logic insists at every turn that we readers attend to the particulars of each New Testament text and every ancient source, never assuming at the outset that we know what it has to say about resurrection but that we read before we synthesize them into a narrative together.  Christian Humanist Profiles is glad to welcome Dr. Chilton to the show.
